H.K.W.H.T.A. – Bill McClendon, Pastor of South Tulsa Adventist Fellowship

“We want to be an evangelistic organization that does church rather than a church that does evangelism. People sometimes say ‘Public evangelism doesn’t work.’ But it does work. Sometimes it’s church that doesn’t work. People come to evangelistic meetings and get used to hearing clear, powerful Biblical messages, listening to outstanding music, being greeted warmly and called if they miss a meeting. Then they are baptized and all those things stop. We’ve decided to be an evangelistic organization that does church the same way, rather than a church that occasionally does evangelism.”

–Bill McClendon, Pastor of South Tulsa Adventist Fellowship (Oklahoma Conf), one of the fastest growing English speaking churches in the North American Division. After two years he sold his software business and began to pastor full time. In the five years of their existence they have baptized 325 people. Membership is about 525.
