WHAT WORKS FOR ME… In Involving Children in the Worship Service

i)         Bob Uhrig, Associate Pastor, Gladstone Park/Estacada District (OR Conf) writes—

“Here’s a great way to get the young people of your church memorizing scripture and also give them opportunity to do the church service.  On Sabbath, January 28, the Estacada Youth Sabbath School joined me in presenting the “Sermon on the Mount” for the church service.  It was explained that the goal was to not only present what Jesus had said as if they had been there and were remembering what He had said, but also to present the entire sermon, Matthew 5-7, from memory.  The group was dressed in Bible era costumes and took turns sharing the sections they had memorized.  Children sat enthralled by what was being said, and all were inspired with Jesus’ message and the fact that large sections of scripture could and should be memorized.”
