What Works For Me In… Helping My Family Adjust to a Move

Since moving is difficult, we have found it to be less stressful to give the family something to look forward to. We point out the advantages, ie: closer to relatives, seeing new sights, or what the new district has that our current one doesn’t. But probably the one positive that has helped soften the transition the most has been allowing the family to participate in picking our new home. In each of our moves we have asked everyone what they would like in our new home, within reason, and then made that a prayer request before God. He has always provided the home that we were hoping for. This strengthens our faith, and helps to confirm that God is leading in the move.
