78317285In what some have characterized as a first for an Adventist world church president, Ted N.C. Wilson recently published an editorial on the Huffington Post religion blog titled “Keeping Church at Arm’s Length From State.” The post makes a strong case for the separation of church and state, citing examples around the globe where religious freedom is in jeopardy because of governmental intervention. As a spokesman for the church, Wilson appeals for the government to uphold the freedoms outlined in the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.
