Of the approximately 14 million baptized Seventh-day Adventists worldwide, over 5 million have joined the church through baptism or profession of faith within the past five years. (http://www.adventiststatistics.org/view_Summary.asp?FieldID=G10001)
Where the church is growing fast there are at least three common ingredients-
1. Most members- both new and old- see the value of being a part of the message, mission and community of Seventh-day Adventists. There is no shyness about being a Seventh-day Adventist, and it’s something worth sharing with others. It gives peace, purpose, principles and friends for the journey through life in preparation for Jesus’ return.
2. All segments of the church have active, clear plans for introducing people to Jesus and the Adventist message. Individuals have a ministry; pastors and churches are focused on soul winning; conferences, schools and institutions measure their effectiveness in seeing transformed lives and people added to the membership of local churches or new churches through baptism.
3. Youth and young adults feel personal ownership in the mission of sharing Jesus and the Adventist message with their peers. About 80% of Adventist membership worldwide is under the age of 30.
