On Friday, December 28, the North American Division will present a renewal and communion service broadcast live on the Hope Channel from the Adventist Media Center in Simi Valley, California. Titled “From the Heart”, the program is one hour in length.Seventh-day Adventist congregations in North America and around the world are invited to participate in the live event which begins at 8:00 p.m. est (5:00 p.m. pst) on Friday, December 28. The program will be rebroadcast at 10:00 p.m. est (7:00 p.m. pst) also on the Hope Channel.
Other time zones will need to make the appropriate conversion.
For churches planning to participate, please note the following:
1. The ordinance of humility (foot washing) should be complete before the broadcast begins. There will be no provision for this during the broadcast. This is because there are so many congregations of different sizes.
2. Likewise there will be no provision for passing out the emblems (bread and juice). Elder Don Schneider, the president of the North American Division who is leading out in the service, will call for the television congregation to participate in this portion of the service about 45 minutes into the program. This means each participant should have both emblems available to them by 45 minutes into the broadcast.
The program will consist of a number of very special musical performances and inspiring short homilies delivered by four different pastors filmed in various locations throughout North America. It is hoped that the highlight of the broadcast will be that thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of Seventh-day Adventists will all participate together in the communion service at the same time.
Please help make this a very special event by encouraging your local church to participate.
