Involving Church School Students as Prayer Warriors

We have some of the greatest prayer warriors of the northwest in our church school classrooms, hallways, playground, gymnasium and lunch room. Young people are often very inclined toward God and pray more than we adults realize. Many already have at least a mental prayer list if not a written one.That’s why Adventist church school teachers across the northwest have invited their students to have a very focused prayer list for relatives and/or friends who need Jesus and need to know that He is coming back soon.

Over 8,000 “My Prayer List” fliers are being given to each student and staff member. (Click here for a sample, downloadable copy.)

Each person is invited to ask Jesus who to put on their list, who they would especially like to see accept Jesus as Savior and Lord and embrace the empowering truths of the Bible this coming semester. Then each student is encouraged to find a missionary partner with whom to pray and to look for other ways to cooperate with the Holy Spirit who is already at work on the hearts of those on their prayer lists.

Some of the people God might impress them to put on their lists are-

• Family members
• Other relatives
• Classmates
• Friends in their neighborhood
• Their parent’s friends
• Themselves

This spring your school (and/or church) has a wonderful opportunity to invite those who are most “ripe” to make decisions for Jesus and His church to attend an eight-night reaping series titled “Revelation Now!” with Pastor Jac Colon, coming to your church (and/or school) free by satellite via the Hope Channel April 19-26. (Click here for planning materials.) This Saturday night-to-Saturday night series is designed to help people make decisions they will be proud of for eternity and to strengthen young people and their families to win others to Jesus. Your conference educational superintendent and pastor have additional information about this.

Wouldn’t it be worth it if even one more person gave his life to Jesus, if one more person united with this wonderful worldwide movement, if one more person caught the vision of becoming a fully devoted disciple and active soul winner?

“With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world! How soon might the end come–the end of suffering and sorrow and sin! How soon, in place of a possession here, with its blight of sin and pain, our children might receive their inheritance where “the righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever;” where “the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick,” and “the voice of weeping shall be no more heard.” Psalm 37:29; Isaiah 33:24; 65:19.” {Education p. 271.2}
