Advent Movements – Gray, Reiner, Butler

grayDon Gray, whose influence equipped thousands for evangelistic work around the world, died Sat., Jan. 11. Gray, who led innovative efforts throughout the North American Division and beyond, was instrumental in developing evangelistic support materials and graphics used by many in short-term mission trips. Even during his retirement years in Portland, Ore., Gray was active in promoting outreach, working with It Is Written and the Voice of Prophecy on reclamation projects. reinerScott Reiner, executive vice president and COO of Adventist Health, has been appointed president. Reiner will succeed Robert G. Carmen, who announced his intent to retire in September. With the vote at December’s board of directors meeting, Reiner became president-elect with immediate transitioning of executive responsibilities, according to Ricardo Graham, Adventist Health board chairman. The transition is to be completed by March 31. Reiner has spent a significant number of years within Adventist Health. He started his leadership as the CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center (GAMC), a 515-bed facility in Southern California. After seven years of service at GAMC, Reiner assumed the role of senior vice president of Adventist Health in 2006. In 2010, he was named the executive vice president and COO. butlerDavid Butler has been named president and CEO of Tillamook Regional Medical Center (TRMC) in Tillamook, Ore., according to Tom Russell, board chairman for the Tillamook operations and president of Adventist Health in Portland, Ore. Butler will assume his responsibility for TRMC, their multiple physician clinics and Urgent Care Centers along the Oregon coast on February 3, 2014. Butler has more than 25 years of experience leading large and rural-sized health care facilities. He currently serves as CEO for North Canyon Medical Center, a critical access hospital in Gooding, Idaho. Read more from Adventist Health online.
